Dr Adrienne Bartle

About

I have expertise working with a diverse range of individuals, couples and families who are struggling not only with mental health issues but also the demands of modern daily living and the challenges this presents.  I believe in providing a respectful, trusting, safe environment that will empower and support my clients as they develop confidence, self-awareness, understanding, acceptance and skills to help them live a meaningful and fulfilling life, and that helps them reach their full potential.

The work with my clients combined with my personal life experiences including divorce, raising four children as a single parent, remarriage and step-mother of two has helped me relate well to my clients and for them to establish a sense of understanding, acceptance and trust.   This has developed in conjunction with my Doctoral research into the role of step parents in blended families, taken from the perspective of the Stepmother, biological father and his children.

I use a collaborative, relational approach tailored to meet the specific, individual needs of my clients based on different modes of therapy including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Focussed Therapy, EMDR, Couples/Relationship Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Cognitive Analytical Therapy.
